Fatboys and Parking Tickets

Mike got a parking ticket on Monday - his first day of work in his new area.

Mike had been assigned to work on the Northwest side (which I like to refer to as the 'North by Northwest' side). Because the year is nearly at an end (I know, I can't believe it either!), his section was running out of work for their inspectors. One person had to go to the Northeast side. Mike almost volunteered but thought that they might not let him go because he's the newbie of the group and they like to keep the new people with the supervisor who trained them for two years, as a general rule. They sent West (those of you at my mom's memorial bbq will remember him) over there. Then Mike got a call from his boss. They were sending another of her people - this time to the Southeast side - and it was him.

Mike kicked himself for not volunteering to go to the NE side - which is where we live. Instead he'll be taking Lake Shore Drive down to Hyde Park. We were sweating for awhile but this area isn't too bad.

Anyway, he got this $75 parking ticket on his first day out in the new area. He's pretty upset, but his supervisor told him that he can probably get out of it if he asks for a hearing and takes his time sheet, showing that he was parked there on "official business." I know - spread out. :D

Mike has the worst luck parking in this city - just ask Bob. :D But that's a story for another day.

The next couple of things are just a couple of cute pictures of the kits that I thought I'd share. This first one I call "Fat Boy in a Window." Look what a tubb-o Furio is. Believe it or not, he's not overweight (according to the vet.) I guess he's just like Eric Cartman..."big boned."

And here they are watching the birds and/or squirrels who frollic in the alleyway between our house and the apartment building next door. The birds hop around on the ground and sometimes fly up past the window. I wish I could get a picture at the right time because the cats just about jump out of their skins when they streak past the window.

He has an "Official City Business" thing posted on his dashboard. That's one of the reason's he's so mad about it.
