Cindi: (glancing at Mike out of the corner of her eye) I think I'll cut all my hair off.
Mike: (disbelievingly) No, you don't.
Cindi: Maybe. I've been thinking about it. I look really cute with short hair.
Mike: All of your hair?
Cindi: Well, I'm not going to shave my head bald. But really short.
Mike: (silence)
Cindi: What do you think about that?
Mike: (sigh) Why do you ask me questions you already know the answer to?
Cindi: (giggle) Because it gives you the illusion of control.

I love your poems and what is it with men and their wives having short hair? Mine was the same way for years and now the older I get....the short my hair gets!

Thanks! I don't know why Mike is like that. I had short hair for years and he never complained but the minute I let it grow, he doesn't want me to cut it. Plus, whenever he hugs me he always makes these sort of blowy-spitty noises when he thinks he might have gotten my hair in his mouth.
My conclusion? Men are weird. :D
And Sara...I think we probablydo do know all the answers to all the husband questions. :D We are brilliant.
Sorry Mike, but you really do not have any say in this matter. You once sported a mullet and a moustache, concurrently I must add, and she loved you the same. In fact, I do believe you had a mullet when you two met, Cindi, can you confirm? That said, you can make no hair comments or dislike short hair at all. I realize I had bad hair myself at the time, but am willing to admit it. sorry, man, but cindi's got the upper hand on this.
He was, indeed, sporting a mullet when we began dating. No mustache, though. He'd 86'd the mustache before we hooked up. But I tend to look upon his "mullet phase" with indulgence. It was 11 and a half years ago...and he was so very young. :D
As a follow up to my last comment, I do have to issue a SLIGHT apology to mike, as I believe this is the second mullet crack to grace a comment on the blog... Perhaps I should retract the original, because it's really best suited for this post :)
While we certainly do have the 'control' we alos have to live with our decisions. I loved you with short hair. Your mom looked great with short hair. I prefer my hair short. I had long hair for too many years. It was a pain in the a**. Too much work and alot more money on hair care products.
Toss that one out and they fold like a house of cards...
