I made it!
Whew. I made it through my first mother's day as a motherless mongrel. I didn't do too badly, actually. I had a watery moment when Mike called his mom because I wanted to call MY mom so bad. But I made it - one day at a time.
Bless those who mourn, eternal God, with the comfort of your love that they may face each new day with hope and the certainty that nothing can destroy the good that has been given. May their memories become joyful, their days enriched with friendship, and their lives encircled by your love. Amen.
i can empathize with your situation to a very small degree in that this was the first mother's day without sara being here at home. i was feeling pretty blah most of the day but i got relief in the form of 2 phone calls( sean + sara). i thought of you and your dad and offered prayer for you. keep those good memories alive.

Prayer for Those Who Mourn
Bless those who mourn, eternal God,
with the comfort of your love
that they may face each new day with hope
and the certainty that nothing can destroy
the good that has been given. May their memories become joyful,
their days enriched with friendship,
and their lives encircled by your love.
Amen.
