The Weekend

On our way home from Michigan, Mike slid off the interstate and took us to the new casino in New Buffalo - The Four Winds. Damn your seductive wiles, Lady Luck. We walked out a bit lighter in the pocket although, no worries - it was only the cash I had on me that we spent. Although, Mike did have to wrest me away from the ATM once we'd started to play blackjack.

I played penny slots when we first got there and turned my $1 investment into $25. I cashed out and thought it was time to go...then Mike found the poker room. Mike took all of the cash I had on me (except my $25 - I drew a line in the sand and dared him to cross it on that issue) - after gas and my predilection for snacks, we didn't have much cash for him to take, but it was $1/$3 blinds, so I figured it'd last for a bit. Then I took my $25 and walked around for awhile trying to kill time. I ran into a slot machine I couldn't resist. I don't normally go for slot machines. In fact, I don't really care that much for the casino, in general. But I ran into a "Super Weiner Dog" machine...which had a weiner dog in a superman outfit on it. How could I not play that? $25 later, I left with an evil sneer and a threat..."You win this round Super Weiner Dog...but I'll get you, if it's the last thing I ever do."

I went back and sat, penniless, while Mike played poker. He was up about $50 but it didn't last too long. He cashed out at a few dollars less than he'd started with. After which he suggested we play blackjack. Mike first talked me into playing blackjack on our honeymoon and we were so successful at it that I've developed a bit of a taste for it. If I can avoid doing it, I don't ever really feel the urge to play but put me at the table and I'm salivating like one of Pavlov's dogs. Sufficit to say, we played for awhile before leaving without our chips.

When we left, I said that I was done with the casino for awhile. Mike snickered and reminded me that the last time I said that, we had gone about two weeks later. Well, I mean it this time! But that Super Weiner Dog better watch his back....just in case.

LOL!!! Super Weiner Dog in a Superman outfit!! Think I've seen that one, you know I'll be playing it the next time me and the old man go there, I'll try to get your money back!! And isn't it hard to wait around for someone in a casino without playing yourself?? I used to be able to do it, not anymore!

Do we need to put you in contact with Gambler's Anonymous?? HA HA HA
Seriously, I'd be hard pressed to go by the Super Wiener Dog slot
machine....especially when he's wearing a Superman costume...
